Left Flagler Beach, Florida, continuing up the coast. Got to St. Augustine, Florida. Very nice little town with lots of history which I wont get into here (look it up!). Rode around town for a while and moved on.
St. Augustine, Florida At one stop, Matt kindly offered me a place to stay at his house in Atlanta. I gladly accepted and stayed at his and Kristin's house for the next two nights, while I sorted the bike details and accessories I needed. As a bonus, Matt had a garage full of tools and made things a breeze. Thanks again ... |

Tuesday morning I made a stop by BMW Atlanta, picked up some boots and a jacket, which I was lacking, and moved on. Left Atlanta all set, with charging connection for iPod on the bike, an essential necessity. Not sure which way to take, I followed one of the suggested rides in Gary McKechnie’s “Great American Motorcycle Tours” book. He calls it the Georgia Hills Run, and it did not disappoint. It starts in Dahlonega, GA, going north on 19 to Suches, then to 180 and 17 to ... |

Next morning headed from Franklin, NC to Ashville, NC, where I got on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Weekday and morning, so I pretty much had it all to myself. Wow, what a road. Up and down the hills, smooth surface, no cops, nice twisties and tunnels. Doesn't get much better. About 80 degrees F in the valleys, down to 55 degrees F in the crests. A very nice day of riding. I dropped off the Blue Ridge Parkway about four hours later down to Charlotte, NC to call it a night. ... |

| So yes, after having slept in a nice home for a few days, I was given the oportunity again, and only 100 miles north or so. Rode up to Bob's BMW in Jessup, Maine, where the guys from BMW of Miami had FedExed my license plate. No more ignoring traffic cams with the "paper" plate, the real one is on now and so just as real will be the tickets. From Bob's I rode to Washington D.C. where my good friend Carolina lives (or Arlington, VA, same thing!). She was kind enough to let me stay in her beautiful apartment, with ... |

Wow, the West Virginia hills. Or more like wow, West Virginia, it's all hills! Rode from D.C. to Harrisonburg, VA, where I made a 90 deg. turn west into WV, prime riding territory. Once again, hills, turns, no traffic, no cops. Georgia Hills all over again, but squared.
Sorry, but I never get tired of these empty forest roads! And on to Chicago, IL. That is all for now. Over/out. ... |

So, where’d I leave off…? It’s been a while… Right, Chicago. Cool town, really cool town. One of the few cities so far where I’d say I’d actually live in (as soon as they’re done with all the highway construction, total traffic nightmare!). Fun city, good atmosphere, variety of neighborhoods, fresh water beaches, and great talent everywhere… What else can you ask for? Good riding roads? Yeah, I guess you could ask for that. No place is perfect.

On the Road Again - Willie Nelson
On the road again Just can't wait to get on the road again The life I love is makin' music with my friends And I can't wait to get on the road again On the road again Goin' places that I've never been Seein' things that I may never see again, And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway We're the best of friends Insisting that the world be turnin' our way And our way Is on the road again Just can't wait ... |

Another Pilot - Hey Rosetta!
crows pitch on the lawn screeching a song the inmates wake up and they're pulled to the bars to pine their regrets and their rusting corvettes and the tragedy they once had a part...in they said "you ruined a life--you pissed on a prize" it's still pulling your knuckles to your palm (f***ing conscience is siding with the wrong side) you know the devil's not deep--no, no, he's brushing your cheek and hearing him breathe you remember a song

I Hope That I Don't Fall in Love with You Tom Waits
Well I hope that I don't fall in love with you 'Cause falling in love just makes me blue, Well the music plays and you display your heart for me to see, I had a beer and now I hear you calling out for me And I hope that I don't fall in love with you.
Well the room is crowded, people everywhere And I wonder, should I offer you a chair? Well if you sit down with this old clown, take that frown and break it, Before the evening's gone away, I think that we could make ... |

“Run” Snow Patrol
I'll sing it one last time for you Then we really have to go You've been the only thing that's right In all I've done
And I can barely look at you But every single time I do I know we'll make it anywhere Away from here
Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear
Louder louder And we'll run for our lives I can hardly speak I understand Why you can't raise your voice to say
To think I might not see those eyes Makes it so hard not to cry And as ... |

"Perfect Situation" - Weezer
What's the deal with my brain? Why am I so obviously insane? In a perfect situation I let love down the drain. There's the pitch, slow and straight. All I have to do is swing and I'm a hero, but I'm a zero.
Hungry nights, once again Now it's getting unbelievable. 'Cause I could not have it better, But I just can't get no play From the girls, all around As they search the night for someone to hold onto. And I just pass through...
Singing... Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh. Singing... Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.
Get your hands off the girl, Can't you see that she belongs ... |

Please allow me to adjust my pants So that I may dance the good time dance And put the onlookers and innocent bystanders into a trance
Give disease so the swine will marry and propagate lies. Tough luck for elected officials. The beast you see got fifty eyes. Bring it on home, spread the wealth. Play it cool, the hand's been dealt. Now, all the odds are in our favor. Save the victory speeches for later.
Streets on fire, the mob goes wild.
